The Indonesian cigarette manufacturer commissioned us to supply a wood waste- fired steam generator for process steam in cigarette production.When designing the system, the company's own production waste was to be used as fuel in order to be able to dispense with untreated wood as fuel. The INTEC fluidised bed combustion system with a firing capacity of 20 MW, which was used in this plant, enables efficient and clean combustion of the tobacco and packaging residues, as well as the regionally produced biomass waste such as bark and other materials. The steam boiler - a natural circulation boiler - with a capacity of 15.8 MW supplies 25 t/h of saturated steam at a pressure of 17 bar(g).  The steam was needed to break up the tobacco leaves and was fed into the internal steam circuit. No thermal oil was used as a heat transfer medium, only a water-steam system.
